AGRIMEND TURF MANAGEMENT
AgriMend is an essential component of a successful turf management program. Whether conventional or organic management is utilized AgriMend provides multiple benefits. AgriMend contains much more than soluble calcium and reactive sulfur it contains a host of secondary micronutrients that promote strong health turf growth.
REACTIVE SOLUBLE CALCIUM
Calcium is one of the six macronutrients required by turf grass. (Calcium, Nitrogen, Sulfur, Phosphorous, Potassium, Magnesium)
Calcium is a nutrient carrier in both the soil and the turfgrass. In the soil calcium helps control water movement and conductivity helping deliver more nutrients from the soil solution.
Calcium helps regulate water and nutrient uptake by the root and movement within the plant. Calcium aids cell wall formation and division and is critical for respiration during high heat and humidity periods.
A deficiency in Calcium leads to poor root development and a loss of responsiveness to nitrogen and iron applications. High nitrogen application in the fall or spring can lead to wilt if calcium levels are not within sufficiency range.
An appropriate target range within turf grass leaves should contain a minimum of 0.50% to 1% Ca in the dried tissue.
AGRIMEND HELPS IN HIGH FOOT TRAFFIC AREAS
Foot traffic compaction can pose a significant problem for turf managers. Compacted soils leads to slow growth and slow growth means slow recovery from foot traffic. Compaction impedes root penetration, reduces water infiltration and drainage. Low drainage can lead to waterlogging where mower damage and foot traffic can be accentuated as it is slower to retain its firmness,
AGRIMEND AND GRASS CLIPPINGS
AgriMend increases soil microbial activity and encourages worms, speeding up the decomposition of organic matter. Where clippings are mulched and left on the turf rather than being removed, regular applications of agrimend will help speed up their breakdown and the eventual return of organic matter and nutrients to the soil.
